2004-2005 | The Beginning

Back in 2004 it all started with a dj contest in Cocoon Club and 200 people who came to support their local heroes. A select few made it to the dj crew and Groovy Tunes started on Friday night 12.01.2005.

2005-2006 | Finding Identity

At the very start the concept struggled to gain momentum and it took months for finding a regular crowd and sound. At the end of the second season Groovy Tunes finally started to get a solid base crowd and because of this returning crowd the Groovy Sound began to develop in the succesformule it is today.

2006-2009 | SOLD OUT!

Early 2006 Groovy Tunes name spread all over the province, waiting lines began to develop. Not only to get in the club, but also to get behind the dj booth. Groovy Tunes was the hotspot, the hype was real and the deejays made sure that each event filled expectations.

2009-2013 | Factory Bree & the end of the cocoon building

With the ongoing succes of Groovy Tunes Hasselt, a second Groovy Tunes opened it's doors in the former Factory Club in the city of Bree.
With a great start at first but after a while it became clear that the real soul of Groovy Tunes was based in Hasselt.

Unfortunately the Cocoon building had an end date, so it was no option staying in Hasselt. This was the beginning of the end of the Groovy Tunes club era. The last event was held on 01.03.2014, short after that Cocoon building was destroyed and Groovy Tunes Hasselt was officially over...
